This apartment is designed for a young couple that recently moved to Warsaw. They want their new space to be elegant, modern and cozy at the same time. The heart of the home is a big kitchen with a central island unit, ideal for parties and large family gatherings.
Originally the apartment has 4 separate rooms: living room, kitchen, bedroom and small office. To make it more spacious we removed the wall between living room, kitchen and hall. The only one partition is double wardrobe accessible both from hall and kitchen. They both love cooking, that’s why a big and comfortable kitchen was a high priority in this project. We create a really nice space, when they can work, relax, prepare delicious food and spend time together just in one room. In the centre we install the 3 meters long unit, covered with white Carrara marble that makes this kitchen island the heart of the home, so now they can invite a bunch of friends over for good food, drinks, and conversation. The living room is really simply furnished. A sofa with clean, simple lines in a light colour, wooden wall shelves and big, comfy armchair. What is interesting, there is no TV in this house. The focus of the room is a big photography of Cite Radieuse in Marseille. The hall is a continuation of the living room, elegant and simple. Even the doors are totally flush-to-wall. To make it more invisible but more cosy at the same time, we choose the wallpaper by Elitis looking like subtle curtain.
The clients really like the concept of their new home. They totally fell in love with marble kitchen island design.
Tip from Studio MUI: The most important is the quality of materials used in the project. I think it’s even more important if you want to design clean, minimalist interior. Remember, the devil is in the details!
